GE M-125 Antique Radio - major restoration required

This  radio is  currently  disassembled: the  chassis, speaker,  and front  cabinet doors,  and dial  glass  have been  removed, but  all disassembled  parts are  included.  I  believe that  most  parts are there, with the exception that I  recall that some of the knobs were missing when I got the radio.  The glass dial window is included and in good shape, but there's a plastic window that fits in it which is extremely yellow  and turning opaque.   The speaker and  grill cloth appear to be in good shape.

All tubes are there and glass envelopes appear to be sound, but the grid caps of some have broken off.

I'd never gotten to the point of trying to power it up; it looks like a fair amount of work is required (at the very least replacing old power wire with crumbling insulation for one thing) before attempting to do so. At least some of the oil-filled caps appear to have leaked as well. The chassis is pretty dusty from sitting in the basement for years.

Someone had started to remove the existing finish from the cabinet in an effort to re-finish it, but that project never got very far.

Here is an entry from radiomuseum.org describing this model: GE M-125
